I was going to jump in on the "sellers warning" thread but it is locked so the question is to beaker (alexr?) or other Northern Beaches folk with "lots a money" Where do you get your reptile food? Ive been looking for years for a decent local supplier but cant find any reasonably priced (currently paying as much as $20 for a med rat). Cause everyone knows we hate travelling "out west" to places like St. Ives :) I just dont feel safe

LOL - I know what you mean!

Have you tried "The Real Macaw" in Brookvale? If that's no good you may need to order them by mail.

:p

Hi Olivehydra...you're loaded right? Well me too so I go to Fins, wings and things at Warringah mall. It is not cheap but then money is no object for us. :)

Seriously though, it is quite expensive - like 7 bucks for 4 weaner mice  I haven't been able to find anywhere else local but the reptile centtre at lidcombe is very reasonable. I only have one snake so I don't mind the expense (7 dollars a month is a cheap pet still).
:)

Yeah I go to wings fins and things? but my olives could easily eat $100/week of their stock. Have not heard of the Real Macaw but will look into it, thanks. I must try and get my guys onto something cheaper like scotch fillet or lobsters

Hi olivehydra, I currently own only one beardie. He gets fed mostly veggies, roaches (which I buy in the city near where I work) and the odd pinkie mouse.

A while back there was a thread we people were talking about lab mice. I PMed one of the Sydney posters and the next time he visited the city he dropped a bag of frozen pinkies off for me ? got a very good deal!

Put a wanted add up on APS. I am sure that you will be able to find a supply of rats from someone near by. I have even ordered some pinkies from AnimalAttraction. (Matt packed them in ice and sent them over night. They arrived frozen and as I purchased some other items the freight was very reasonable.

We should all get together on my million dollar yacht, drink champaign and bitch about the St Ives westies (and how they ?come over? and spoil our beaches?)

What place in the city Alexr? Is it near martin place? Do they have rates/mice?

Hi
I live in the area too, and can't find a local supplier with reasonable prices, so I go all the way to Coogee for mine! (need a packed lunch for that trip  :D )

Don't bother with Real Macaw, they only have mice, no rats and definitely nothing for Olives.
Well I should say, that was when I checked last, a couple of weeks ago.
I do go sometimes to Fins, wings and things, but prefere going out west to St. Ives petshop, as I find them actually a little cheaper.

Try Dicky's Mice & Rats
9452 5439

He's around French's Forest area.

Prices are very resonable

cheers
