Hey champ welcome, I'll post the link to the NSW licensing page .. Beardies, blue tongues, geckos are good for a first, I'm not sure on frogs as i don't keep them..

Environment & Heritage | Getting an animal keeper's licence to keep reptiles Have a look on that tells you everything you need for your reptile license.

Environment & Heritage | Getting an animal keeper's licence to keep frogs That's for your amphibians license.

if your unsure on species etc, wait until the expos and if you order your licence now you should be all set for some lizards

I've had a reptile licence for nearly 2 years, but my missus decided she wanted frogs too..... I thought she was on drugs and didn't know why she wanted them. She sorted out an amphibians licence and now we have Eastern Dwarfs, Central Tree Frogs and Magnificent Tree Frogs. The mags are my favorite and have plenty of character so I highly recommend them.

The drawfs are pretty easy to look after and being so small you can have a lot together. We have 11 in a 30x30x45 exo terra enclosure and it still looks empty. In summer they don't need too much heat as they are from similiar areas to us. I'm not too much of a fan of the Dwarfs as most of them hide and only come out for a feed, but they are a pretty little frog.

The Centralian Tree Frogs were an accident because when they morph they look like Mags, and the woman had never breed the Centrals in the 5 years she had them so she had a big surprise when she started to notice the difference between the browner Centrals and the greener Mags. After doing some research on the Centralian Tree Frogs, there isn't alot known about them compared to other Australian frogs. But they are pretty funny with their Kamakazi eating style.

The Magnificent Tree Frogs are my favorite out of the lot. Just happy to chill on a rock or ledge and don't hide too much like the others. After we found out we had the Centrals the woman let us choose some Mags to make up for the mistake. They are awesome frog with heaps of character, ours love to sit on you for a bit where as our other frogs make a dash when given a chance.

Due to the Mags and Centrals living in similar climates, we house them together in a larger Exo Terra enclosure. It is set at a constant 29-31 degrees. Instead of lots of plants like the Dwarfs, the Mags enclosure is mostly set up with ledges, rocks etc more like where they are found.

Thanks everyone!!
I'm thinking on getting a bearded or bluey :)
I will be going to the expo for sure even if I don't have a licence by then :)
