Hi all, was hoping someone could help me out and suggest what might be going on with my bredli hatchling. The last couple of days I've noticed it keeping the rear half of its body raised when basking. There's a branch in the enclosure and it tends to drape down off that, but I've also noticed it keeping the last 10 odd cm (it's about 50cm) at a 45 degree angle on occaison. I'm trying to think of what could be going on but frankly I'm baffled, since I've only had a snake for about a month.

Sure, obviously I can't force him into the other position, but here's a crappy picture of what he was doing today

The other position is curled up into a spiral with about 10cm of tail jutting into the air. I just checked him in his hide and he's lying down fine, so I know he's not forced into the position by injury or anything, I'm more just curious

Mine does the same as your photo sometimes, often will stay like that for half an hour at a time at night also.

Does yours have any hides or something?

Michael

Edit: just read that you checked his hides lol
