Gday everyone,

I'm considering getting a pair of Oedura Lesueurii and was initially going to buy a glass aquarium somewhere to house them. However I've found a tub that I haven't used in awhile and was wondering if it would be sufficient for a pair (or perhaps trio) of these. It's 33/30/21 (L/H/W). I know that they are arboreal and need height, is 30cm enough? I'm also a little concerned about the width, I know 20cm is not much.

Also, is meshing required on the lid or could I put lots of holes with a small soldering iron?

Thanks for any advice.

Would be fine for a pair, ensure to give them some hiding spots and stuff to climb on. I am a fly screen on the lid type of person

i use the 30x30x30 exo terra for my pair.
however i have sometime temporally put them in tubs (for cleaning etc.) and they seem to have trouble climbing the plastic... not sure why

Hi have caught heaps of these and have never found them to be arboreal. Always found them under rocks, would worry about length and with rather than height.

I have had the larger Oeduras in tanks with wire mesh with no problems but have heard stories. Pegboard would work and if a tank you could make 2 faces pegboard, or the roof and 2 sides.

Dont forget to post some pics when you get them

Will do.

Is that so? Has anyone else noticed this? I'll keep an eye on them, if that seems to be an issue I'll get a glass enclosure.

That's strange, everything I've read says arboreal. I'll keep looking.

And curiously, is anyone advising against simply putting holes in the lid? I've got a tiny soldering iron that would do the job well, however, I'm also happy to go get some mesh.

Mne were definitely arboreal. And quick!. I'd be more inclined to get higher sides simply for the fact that if you take the lid off to feed them and one decides to take off up the side they move like lightning.

Good to know! I was thinking of having a hole close to the bottom in which I can insert food and seal afterward.
