I watched a series called Swamp People last night, its about inbred freaks in Louisiana trapping Alligators, they used large hooks tied to trees with bait on them, then they check them the next day, if there is a Gator on it they shoot it and haul in on board, you can see the gators still alive and kicking and they unloaded them at the end of the day.

I suspect someone has been inspired by this show (its on 7 mate I think) and set traps for the local crocs

i understand the " public safety " thing , but using baited hooks then half **** shooting it . i guess big cage traps are to heavy to move around .

And costly.
The rednecks aren't doing it for any reason but money, they make over $1000 a day shooting them, and that's between a team of 2 usually.
They were shooting tiny 150cm gators, public safety my ****
