hey guys...
Ive got a new olive python female that was hatched 06/08 by wokka...i bought her off him in early July..she is now onto medium rats and she is growing perfectly but the only problem is she still hasn't shed for me...

she doesn't look unhealthy or anything she looks fine... the reason i ask is that my other snakes shed at least once a month and she hasn't shed for me yet... any suggestions?

the pic was taken about a month ago.

cheers
james

nothing out of the ordinary to me.
I dont have years and years of keeping experience behind me, but i do have a few snakes that all shed irregularly and my big bredli hasnt shed since early july either. I would get more worried if your olive was shedding too much.

true tanks alot... i once had a stimmie that shed every three weeks without fail... some snakes are just different i guess..

r u power feeding ur snakes. they should not be shedding every 3 or 4 weeks

nup the stimmy was fed every fourtnight on large mice and the olive is on med rats fourtnightly...got no intentions on breeding or anything at the moment///

I had the same problem with my BHP,all the others shed in one piece all the time. What i was told was to put the water bowl closer to the heat source, heatcord in this case, and to mist the snake every couple days, ever since ive done this it has worked very well.A friend who has two older Olives was told to mist every day or two when their about to shed and im certain that she hasnt had any bad sheds like before...Generally hatchies-yearlings shed every 6-8weeks and sub-adults-adults every 3-4months...

All should be fine. Snake will shed soon. It is winter also.

haha, funny you started this thread, my bredli girl went cloudy a bout a week ago and since her last shed was a bit dry i have been misting her every evening this week.
She started her shed about half hour ago and is still going, but its all in one piece so its better than last time
