Hey guys,
I am proud to announce that I have my first ever gravid python.
Her name is Medusa and she is an 8ft Bredli python. Female of course haha.
After turning off her food and developing quite a bulge in her tummy, I decided to have her ultrasounded by my local rep vet.
To my surprise we have definite gravidness!!
She spent some time with a gorgeous classic Bredli boy and we did not notice them even take interest in each other at all. But obviously a quiet sexual moment rose between them and now we are expecting.
I am so excited but at the same time I am so nervous as this will be my first ever clutch to incubate. If anyone has any tips that may help me out with the whole process of taking the eggs and incubating, please do not hesitate to share.
I have the whole Centralian section from the Mike Swan book Keeping and Breeding Aust. Pythons, so I am hoping that the guidelines will be very helpful.
I also have my incubator set up and ready to go.
So now I am just playing the waiting game.
I am wondering, is there any definite way to tell which day she will lay? Like is there a dead giveaway hint that she has gone into "labor" as such?
Thankyou all for reading and happy herping.
Cheers, Bec- Snake Gal
