This is Mr Sparkles, my female adult Stimmie, looking pretty and fresh shed:). She has a couple of odd scales which are bright orange, as well as a patch of not as bright orange down towards her back end.
I always put it down to scarring or something, which would be fine for the small patch, but seems a bit strange for the single scale. I'm curious: does anyone know why she would have single orange scales, or even the patch of orange?

I have a little Broome stimmie that did that as well but they went away. I have seen a few other on here as well that had that happen to their stimmies as well.

Hahaha love it, in the corner of the computer screen you can see aussie python's opened up ;)
Thats unusual isn't it, very weird indeed, but probably perfectly 100% natural...who knows?

Can you peel it off or is it the actual scale colour? In the second and fifth pictures it looks almost like when a bit of old shed is stuck. I'm not sure why it would be orange though.
Awesome name by the way too haha

No, it's the actual scale colour, and I put it down to scarring because the scales themselves seem to be a touch smaller than the ones around them. It's definitely not stuck skin, they feel completely normal etc, no swelling or sensitivity, so I'm not too concerned, just curious. She was bought as a male, named Mr Sparkles, and then her and our other adult Deathclaw did the nasty when we had to house them together briefly (enclosure pooped itself). Being very amateurish, we weren't too sure if they were fighting or doing the horizontal hokey pokey. Sure enough, she dumped a clutch:) She abandoned them all though, so they died:(, and will not be getting the chance to throw her loose morals around again, at least not unless I eventually decide to breed and do a LOT more research.
