Hey guy's Im in need of a little help.

I currently have a 4 foot cage i used to use for my blue toung years ago. But now im getting a bearded dragon Im in need of a better light source. So I went out and bought a Oz Black 250w ceramic heater.

But im having some problems, I instaled it on the side of the cage but evry time I turn it on it seem's to get far to hot at the top of the light instead of generating heat all around the light. I can't fight the light in from the top of the enclosure to the bottom so I had to put it in side way's. Now is that the problem im having that the light is put in side ways?

By the way the tempreture was set to the lowest at 24 degree's when testing how hot it would get. So im a bit worried.

This is a link of the picture of the light I have

Any help would be great thanks guy's

Heat rises. I have an enclosure by the sounds. Same size, I have a 150 w Extreme globe. My temp is higher above the light. Temps all around the area are different. My snake seems fine with it. I just added basking spots above and around. Mine also is on the side. Even right in the centre the temp is 30 to 34 depending on the weather.
