Hi all,

I was just looking at what mammals you can keep on a basic vic licence and I noticed you can keep Pademelons amongst other things. Does anyone know anyone that has them for sale?

Regards David

If they give a good resonate hollow sound when you thump them they are ripe or you can sniff the spot at the base.

I've floated the thought here awhile ago myself David. Apparently they come up for sale from time to time in the Trading Post. I've got a pet rabbit ATM and thought with a bigger enclosure to put a wallaby away at night there wouldn't be a huge difference in keeping one. The rabbit eats grass, the wallaby eats grass lol Still, it's just a thought st the moment - and in addition, I've never personally seen them for sale. Let me know if you do though, I'd be interested in what they charge for one.
:)

Some Red-neck Wallabies are currently for sale on PetLink (October 9) for $295 each.

:p

Hix

Watermelons are cheaper and easier to maintain and you only needa small garden.

A few mamals come up for sale on the Herp Trader but I do not think there are any their currently. Sugar gliders are the other native mamal that comes up from time to time.

Pademelons are seriously cute. We had a bunch of them around our cabin when we went to Cradle Mountain recently. They make that clicking sound as per skippy. You could issues a couple of click click clicks with your tounge and they would come and check out what you were up to.

The 1st is of some of the pademelons that gathered by our cabin in the bush...then the next day we hiked around Dove Lake, 6.6km hike, fantastic day!!! So I included a photo of Dove Lake.... :D
(no reptiles to be seen  except a few skinks, it was quite cold )
