Yesterday I was asked to remove a 1 metre redbelly from a local farm. The farmer Dallas, and his wife told me that last year Dallas was climbing down his tractor when he trod on a large black snake which shocked him so much, that he shot up the tractor steps slamming his head into the tractor roof so hard that he broke his neck! True story.

Lucky he wasn't bitten whilst breaking his neck. He would have been in serious trouble then!!!

It turned out that old Dallas had indeed parked his tractor on the poor snakes back and pinned it. He was lucky he didn't get bitten a very angry snake. One of the neighbours ended up killing the snake with a shovel.
Poor Bugger didn't have a chance!

LOL, rescues are quite funny. I was called out the other day to a RBB down a 3 metre hole at a construction site. They said I would need a harness to get down due to safetly regs. I thought I would call on a mate to come along just in case. We turned up at the site and found a 3 metre deep hole allright. It was 2m wide and 4 metres long, with a ladder in one corner and two rows of steel RSJs running along the walls. What they had forgotten to tell me was that it was another 3 metres deep of water. And to top that off the RBB was floating on a piece of timber in the middle. Lucky I had someone else who could help as there was no way I could have gotten it by myself.

Amazing how vital info happens to be forgotten about....LOL. He was happily released though which was great.

I recall Mike Tyson telling an interviewer after a fight that he'd been fighting with a broken neck.

:p
