Hi
some people are giving me a bearded dragon but they don't have lisence because it's their only protected animal. Anyway I live in sa and have a lisence and was just wondering how you write it in.

You can't. They cannot legally dispose of it without a license. You could offer to pay for their license.

That's pretty much the only way otherwise you will be in trouble the the flora and fauna depo...you don't want that >.<

As your aware, here in sa you don't need a license to keep one protected species, but Chris is right, he will need to get a license to move it on

That just seems so contradictory. If you don't need a license to keep it you shouldn't need one for selling that 'one' animal, otherwise it should be a license from go to whoa.

Once you want to move the animal on (even give it away) you are officially selling that animal and as such it will need to be tracked.
Unless the owner in question here grabbed it from the wild he would have got it from a license holder

I know it sounds weird !

I know it's really dumb and sa permits are around 60 a year and around 35 for half a year.

Sounds really stupid! How much is the licence you need?

Just to move an animal on, with the Application for a Basic Keep & Sell Permit, you stipulate on the form "to sell the animal"... With the Permit, you will get a form "Request to Cancel" - fill that out, return it with your Permit, job done...
For these instances, it's recommended you get the 6-month Permit - $34.75 currently...

I know! I'd like to see license from the start. It would stop impulse buys - we can buy from retail outlets (petshops and reptile specialists)
