How do I put a pic in a reply to a post without putting it in my gallery first please? Just want to post a pic of one of our rat cages that Dave made in the "Breeding Rats" topic. Do I need to resize it? Please give me good, easy to understand instructions - I'm a bit of a computer dumbo sometimes. Cheers Cheryl

You have to resize your pics pretty small to attach them, and there are programms for that available on the net, or you might have already. It's a bit hard to explain without knowing what you have.

The easiest thing I reckon, is making a photobucket account and putting your pics up there. www.photobucket.com Just follow the instructions to make your account and it's easier than uploading your pics to the aps gallery, and it's free.

And then you can link to the pic in your reply, like you do in the gallery using the img tags.

When you have uploaded the pic onto your photobucket acccount, click on it, so it brings up the pic at full size. Then right click it and go down to 'properties'. The url will come up in the information about the pic, called 'address . You then copy the information (t...needed. Hope I haven't confused your more/

I reckon that's a great suggestion, Nome! It means you don't have to worry about the upload limit here (see thread http://www.aussiepythons.com/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&p=196051#196051 for more info.

Also, look in http://www.aussiepythons.com/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=2263 for more info on resizing photos.

The only "proviso" regarding photobucket is that your should bear in mind that there is no guarantee that the web site will be there in a year! The same goes for ANY website! It's a good idea to NEVER rely on an Internet site to keep your original pictures!

About the only other caveat is that Photobucket only allows a maximum image size of 250 KB, so you may have to resize your photo anyway! ALso be aware, that according to their privacy statement, "You agree that by using the Site you are expressly and affirmatively consenting to our use and disclosure of the information that you provide, and consenting to receive emails, as described below in this privacy policy.
