Ok , As far as i can tell through searchs and recommendations Pine is ok to use with pythons as a whole , not shavings or saw dust or wood chips though and not treated pine in any kind.

Has anyone heard or know any different to this ????

As my hide box is made from pine and sealed with non toxic Wellbond watered down, which is like aquadear (wood glue) . And i am very paraniod about this as someone said it could poison him.

Please help ...... Thanx

it should be alright! i not treated pine is bad because it killed my mice! and my crickets (before i knew that it was treated!) killed them in 1min litterally! i chucked them in...went to the toilet came back and they were all dead!

That's funny in away cause that's what treated pine is supposed to do, kill bugs.
Not funny though cause i would have been pissed if i didn't know too.
I have untreated pine in one of my old enclosures and my carpet has lived in it for 5 years without a worry.

Treated pine has been treated with ****nic which is dangerous to just about everything (yes-people included, a known carcinogen linked to bladder cancer and other nasties, can you believe parks are full of treated pine picnic tables?? What the?)

I'm not sure about the implications of pine in general other than what I have read about not using pine chips or shavings... by memory it is something to do with fumes or oils?? which can harm the snake .....

hopefully someone with some propper knowledge/experience can fill you in on the facts

Would be great to get some feedback on pine bark chips. I have a mate who has kept her bredlis on this substrate for years without incident. Anyone truly in the know, would love to hear your thoughts.

****nic, testing, one..two..****nic.

Yep:D, thats hilarious TLizzie!

I'm nearly certain that pine bark chips are not treated so they should be fine.
