I've noticed my Diamond tends to go pink on her throat and belly when feeding time is on, has anyone noticed this in their pythons and does anyone have an answer to why this colour change happens during feeding? I've attached a picture but as usual it does not do it justice, the pink is a lot darker and stands out more in person!

Cheers..

yes my diamond does it too normally just before it smashes a rat, its throat goes a bright pink.

I have noticed this before with my Jungles, I just thought it was increased blood flow to that area brought about by feeding excitement

It's increased blood flow for the area for the stretching to begin as they get the prey item down their neck, my diamonds do it too

Thanks everyone, I thought it may have been increased blood flow, weird that it mainly happens with diamonds though!

my girl went the pinkest ever when she finally got fed on the weekend,....fro a moment i thought her rat mustve burst and all the pink was guts,....

My carpets do it as well.As they have white under bellies.

My girl does it too. I was worried the first time; then Uncle Google put my mind at rest
