Please help... i think my snake is sick..

Yesterday it shed and i fed it...

today i took fluffy (9month old spotted) out to clean its enclosure..

i put fluffy on my hand and it seemed very very weak... as in it usually hangs onto my hand very tightly trying not to fall etc.. but today it slithered on my hand very calm and relaxed, almost as if it was tripping and its back half lost grip and almost fell off my hand...

i think it might be exhausted from shedding.. but it doesnt hurt to ask....

could it be sick? or is it getting use to me and its just relaxed or its just tired?

please..... help

thx

Sounds sick if it is acting weak. Best to be left alone after feeding. Does it have a nice warm spot to digest? I'd find a herp vet soon to get it checked out. Shedding does not make them act like that.

it does have a nice warm spot to digest.........however its on the cooler side for some reason :S

maybe its just full from being fed and wasnt able to hang onto your hand like it normally dose. try not to handle your snake for a few days after feeding. give it a couple of days to digest the feed then try handling again and see how it is then. if your really worried now contact a reptile vet and talk this over with them

Seksyjinke,

It is advisable not to handle a snake for 24hrs after shedding and 48-72 hrs after a feed. There skin can be a little sensitive directly following shedding. Also the first few days after a feed, handling can cause them to regurgitate a feed. I know when i've been a guts and eaten a large amount of food i don't really feel like being touched either, lol.

Keep a close eye on it and i'm sure it'll be fine. Snakes can find it diffcult to move around straight after a big feed. If it appears to get worse or you really are worried than take it to a vet to get checked over or call them up for advice.

thx for all the advice...

this is the first time i handled fluffy within 48 hours of feeding, today as i discovered crap on the paper thats why i handled it while i clean...

so i guess ur right.. its a little full.....

btw, 2 weeks without a tag :) yay!!!!
