Educational Reptile Displays is a Brisbane based wildlife education business that prides itself on providing exciting, informative and professional demonstrations to the higher end of the market. We shy away from the "Snakeman" persona that is so often associated with this style of business.

We are currently seeking presentable, knowledgeable and eloquent staff to assist in the presentation of these demonstrations.

Duties will include -

- Assistance in the assembly and pulling down of the show system
- Assisting in demonstrations (unbagging and bagging animals, organising animals into a particular order etc)
- Interacting with the public
- Answering questions from the general public
- Assisting with photo opportunities
- Product sales and promotions

Prospective employees must be enthusiastic, knowledgeable and reliable. This work is unsuitable for primary employment, but would suit university students or those with flexible schedules. Shows are 1 - 10 days in lengths, ranging from 6 to 16 hours per day.

Remuneration is attractive, as are many 'perks' such as travel, celebrity interaction and significant hands on experience.

Venomous snake handling experience is not a necessity, however you will have to be willing to interact with them with appropriate training. Experience in handling large pythons, monitors and pygopods is a bonus.

Please forward resumes to [email protected]

G'day guys,

The majority of the work is on the weekend, with some including Fridays. A few shows are mid-week but for obvious reasons this isn't too common.

University students/graduates are given a high-priority, although it most definitely is not a necessity (I have never attended university so can't discriminate!).

That sounds fantastic! Except that I'm in Townsville studying, not Brisbane! Which sucks because I'm originally from Brisbane and only came here for university!

Goodluck with finding someone suitable to join your team.

Wow, this sounds like a great opotunity. I have applied : )
Good luck finding someone : ) good luck to all!

ShnakeyGirl, if you wish to apply you are more than welcome to contact us as we look for new staff occasionally!

G'day Blackdog,

We have no age limit - our oldest employee is pushing 60! Our experience with university students/graduates is that they generally have a broad theoretical knowledge base, and are able to convey information to the public in a simplistic, easy to understand way.

For those who haven't attended university, please don't let the above discourage you in applying if you honestly believe you have the skills we are seeking.

Cheers
