they are really sneaky but they are really nice snakes..
 
Did you know that snakes that are illegally imported into Australia are euthanised(Not sure of the spelling). I know someone in Customs and they regularly tell me which snakes come in ..... That was until I found out they get destroyed... Now I dont want to know..

They only get euthanised if they are what is classed as a non-threatened species, and then if any class A zoo's don't accept them. I think these guys will probably get accepted by Melb zoo, as i believe they are a CITES 1 listed animal.

There actually juvenile Emerald tree boa's (Corallus caninus), but I agree they are lovely. They look better than GTP's as adults to 8) .

No, they are just Cites appendix 2 listed, I hope they do find a home within some zoological establishment, as it isn't there fault that some idiot shipped them to Australia.

Yeah sorry bud, i was confusing myself. I was thinking Amazon Jungle, not Amazon Boas!!!! interesting thing convergent evolution, love the heat pits on the upper lip!!

Yeah you're right on both counts there it is in appendix 2 ( I really should think before i open my mouth/keyboard!!haha) And that person is an idiot. I know alot of people have gotten away with it, and to those who get caught, well tough luck, the rules are here for a reason!!
 
OH ok...Thanks Guys....... Maybe my friend doesnt know the full details...Or maybe I swithed off after hearing they were euthanised and didnt get all the details....:(
