Pre lay shed??

G'Day, I was just reading another thread before on FAY's pygmy python girl laying 7 eggs, but not having a pre-lay shed before hand.

Mt BHP girl is looking most certainly gravid. Getting very large at the bottom 3rd of her body. Almost looks like she'l be ready to lay sooner rather than later. I always thought pythons had a prelay shed prior to laying??

Obviously some dont? Is this a normal occurance in pygmys, or can it happen with other species??

haha...woops, this was her now obviously ovulating. Hindsight is a wonderfull thing...lol

Interesting thing here was though, i could see this ovulation swelling for at least 10days - 2 weeks. Not a 24-48hr thing. thats what made me think she was gravid then.

Anyone else seen ovulation last so long???
