I,ve been nursing this albinl python, female, 9 footer back from scale rot and she has been doing very well, almost completly healed.

Tonight I was giving her the usual bath and she pooped lightly in the tub and started rolling and twisting like she was in pain or bound up, I had to hold her head out of the water while I was draining the tub to keep her from ingesting water. Trying to dry her she was still rolling and twisting all around and she wont sit level, head cocking to the side, she stopped scenting and now she is sitting level in her house, scenting lightly (white tounge) and acting semi normal again although I haven't had her back out yet to see how she behaves in hand. I had her in my lap for a while before the bath and she was fine. No poisions, mites, had a decent shed 2 weeks ago. Any ideas on this what looks like painful behavior?

Also, she seems to have periods of whistly breathing, sometimes when I put my ear to her side and listen to her breath, it sounds jagged and clicky, other times it's nice and clear and deep breathing, any ideas here?

Thanks,

Scott

Now she is in the cage, when I disturb her she breaths heavy and when she moves, her head is cocked to the side a little, kind of like a neuological or spinal problem, better but still not right. I'm thinking of getting her out and have her lay with her head up on top of the back of the chair and her body going down hill from there, any ideas guys?

By the way, why are red tails illegal in Aussi?

Scott

As far as the snake goes... it could be anything?? without getting various examinations done by a vet it's all hear say...
As for red tails, any reptiles or amphibian (with the exception of axolotls) not from Australia can not be legally kept on a hobby Lic.

thats the problem with having exotics, if ur snake is that, it might be hard getting a vet to treat it. but good luck and i hope that ur snake gets better.
