Hi,

My young blue tongue has an unusual habit; sometimes when we take him outside we'll catch him hanging his tongue out the side of his mouth very slightly in between licking the air. He never does this inside or in his enclosure (the hanging-tongue thing)!
It looks rather funny and harmless, but I'm wondering whether this could be an anxiety thing, perhaps from birds or car sounds, or something along those lines? Any ideas?

Thanks :)

yeh it could just be the different smells etc outside, my blue tongue tries to scale his enclosure sometimes the doors at either end have meshing and he climbs up on them than just lets himself fall off when hes had enough of being on there

Mine does that too haha, we have a fake rock background and he'll climb it then just drop, we've put a towel along the background now because it looks painful to fall from.
Thanks for the response :)

yeh it does look a lil painful hes got his substrate to land on so im guessin that will cushion his fall ive checked him after hes done it to make sure hes alright, lol the funny things to watch
