Hey guys, I was wondering if frogs shed their skin? The reason i ask is because my GTF had what looked like skin coming off. I don't know what it was.

Yes they do.

They 'scrape' it off with their front and hind legs and usually eat it too! Comes off in pieces and often looks quite stringy/gooey.

I often find it stuck to the glass on the side of the tank- looks like someone had a good sneeze and shot out some snot!

nah, sorry, i got it off him, not knowing what it was. He was soaking in the water for a while. But i'm sure thats whhat it was, as DRNick said.

They shed pretty frequently, sometimes puffing themselves up to little balls first to stretch the skin, they also use there hands to "wipe/pull" the skin forward and they eat most of the shed. My whitelips also suck in there stomachs and then ripple them to remove the skin.

oh ok thanks for that, he has been looking a little fatter than normal lately. Could it come from over handling too? He is still his happy little self. He seems even happier that he has a friend now.
