Got a pleasant suprise on New Years Day, checking the incubator, to find the alby Darwins pipping with two out of the eggs.

Question:

When removing the two vacated eggs. 1 was normal with contents absorbed the other had a flesh type ball??
In my many years of breeding i've not seen this before. Has anyone else or ideas

Both hatchies are doing fine, just awaiting the rest of the clutch to come and meet them :)

Pics attached.

2 hatcho's, the 2 eggs empty and the individual egg in question.

Just curious..........

I've seen this before in bredli....it's a bit alarming at first glance but the youngsters have always been healthy and thrived

JMO...possibly an undeveloped twin ??? I really don't know

Cheers
Sandee :)
