What about the "Northern banded termite eating Python" from Cape york penninsula? A very rare underground diurnal species discovered in 1886 by herpeologist Alfred Tosserini . This species was hence named " Antaresia Tosserii"...Cheers

I believe the Red Naped Snake has been known to take crickets and grasshoppers.
