Do snakes generally shed on a fairly "regular" basis? ie every 8 weeks approximately. My girl shed 2 months ago, on the day I got her, then shed again two weeks ago and is now looking dull again as though she's ready for another one! This cannot be right- Is it? I know I am feeding her a bit more often than her previous owner did.. could it just be that she's growing a little faster now, or something?

Have attached a few pics of her on her new "Play Shelf", which is just an area I made for her on the bookcase next to my computer so she can hang out with me.

How old is the snake? How much are you feeding it? How often?

I have been led to believe a good shed cycle is every 7 or 8 weeks and mine is pretty tru to that but if it is getting fed a lot it will shed more often.

She is a 5 yr old and I feed her once a week. She seems small compared to other adult spotted's, so I guess my mothering instincts are kicking in and I want to make sure she is a good healthy size (but not overweight) for her age.

Some people balance the feed ratio so that their snakes shed every 6 weeks.
