Hey Guys and Girls

Just need a little help I have a 5 year old jungle, about 3 weeks ago I found him a girl friend and put them together in the same enclosure they have seamed to be fine getting along fine but this morning my boy is all rapped up in his water bowl, I had a look and cant find any sign of mites any other ideas way he would do this?

Any help would be great thanks in advance.

Regards

He is either a bit to hot, just wants to have a little swim, or it could be a case of mites. Just take notice of what he is doing and have a look in the water bowl every now and then. You can try taking him out of the bowl and see if he goes back in. If you are still worried, I'd head to a vet.

how is he in regards to routine, is he doing everything he usully does but is just in the water bowl.

he may have a slight fever or be comming up to a shed also.

Everything else seems to be unchanged he has not long shed about 2 weeks I feed him on Saturday, its just the first time I have seen him rapped up in his bowl.

just a thought maybe you should change the title from "raped in water bowl" to "wrapped in water bowl"

im never a stifler for spelling as im probably the worst BUT i had completely the wrong idea by your title lol

My thoughts exactly :p.

should have seen the shear look of confusion on my face when i saw that it was the male "all rapped in the water bowl" hahahahaha

but yeah if no mites are visible then could be coming upto a shed or simple cooling down, if he stays in there for awhile (like a few days) go down to bunnings and get a led magnifier (magnifing glass with 7 LED's in it) this will allow you to get alot better look at the scales and under any lifted scales.

A hit of TOD wouldn't go astray if he in there for abit

Anyway on topic, it could mites or it could be temp related. But it could also be nothing, it's not unheard of for snakes to like having a soak in their water bowl.

totally agree i have some that just like to soak dont matter what the temps are

but the female you got did you quarantine her before you put her in with him??? the mites could have come with her (has happened to me before thus starting the great mite plauge of 2006)

have you checked her for mites?? As said before it may not be anything but hey better to be safe than sorry i always say
