Gday,

Ive been feeding our 2 year old Spotted recently and he just smashes them over instantly so today I upgraded to small rats. I thought they may be to big and gave him one tonight.

Amazingly enough he did it but I watched the whole thing and it took about 30 odd minutes to finish and left a fair size bulge(see pic).

I was very concerned, was this to much??
Any help appreciated.

Cheers
Scotty

he will be fine just make sure there is a lovely warm spot for him to settle down and have a sleep to digest. I always watch mine to make sure they are digesting properly you should see the bump start to go down even after the first 24 hours.

I always find my jungles wake up in the best mood after about three days after a big feed and sometimes it even takes them into shed so dont worry if he starts to go dull and into shed as a result of having such a big bump.

Regards

Elizabeth

Thanks for the quick replies.

Maybe this photo doesnt do it to much justice or maybe im just concerned. But I did read somewhere on this site not to see the skin stretched really far.
It was really stretched behind his head/neck and obviously its a smaller part of the snakes body which is why it was so stretched.

Hope im freakin over nothing, but you guys have made me feel a lot better.

Cheers
Scotty

thats fine mate, my woma is left with a nice big lump in his belly and takes him 1 hour to eat sometimes but that will be because it tries to eat it food first for 20 mins before trying the middle then finally gets its head then takes another 20 mins, i call him the special 1 lol
