Some interesting pics of newborn Pseudechis porphyriacus that where born in my care recently,displayed there "umbilical cord" you could call it,even though the developing embryo is not physically attached to a placenta as in a placental mammal,there is however,what appears to be some placental transfer between the developing young and the mother in the form of exchange of electrolytes and Amino Acids. This is unique in the snake world,it hasnt been observed in any other snake species.
