:D Just got a call from sydney wildlife about reggy bluetongue. The lump on the neck was infection, full of pus. He spent a few days at the vet, had it cleaned and treated with antibiotics. He is now home with Julie, the girl who picked him up. Hes doing great and eating like a horse. great news eh. She will relese him when the weather is warmer, meanwhile he enjoys 5 star accomodation and room service. :D

Man thats good to hear. :D how big was he? can i get room service too?

congrates matey!!!!!!!
it feels good when you have done the right thing

Yes I was chuffed to get a call. Julie said my initial care made all the difference, had I not treated and cared for him, he would not have survived the shock. Really to happy to helped and happier that sydney wildlife and their vet were there too. It was just one bluetongue lizard,
but one less cat/dog fatality. I wish him well. he was a real little character. Thankyou everyone for your intrest in reggy's story. :D

Instar, Julie commented to me that you had looked after Reggie really well.
I should point out that the public in general aren't allowed to care for injured wildlife but its great when someone who does do it gets it right.
Keep up the good work.
Peter

Well thankyou peter! Im glad I got it right too. Would have been not much good calling you guys for a dead bluey. knowing something about reptiles came in handy. :D

Sorry liberated, I left you hanging eh? You will find a pic or two of reggy in "rehabilitaing bluetongue skink" thread in chit chat forum.

We get qiute a few calls for reptiles that dont make it.
Like the bluetongue that hadnt moved for a week. It was still alive when we picked it up but............... or people who want to know if they need to do anything else to the snake to make sure its really dead.
