my own stupidity

i recently purchased a illigal snake and now one of my hypo coastals won't keep his food down for last 3 months. quarintine was performed in seperate areas of the facility but im guessing if its one of the baddies(ompv/ibd) that i've picked up then its air transportable any way should i start freezing all animals or only the illigal and the possible infected. is it true that only test to find cause are after post mortem? please help im paying for my stupidity now even with stress let alone loss of my beloved herps:cry::cry::cry::cry::oops:

regurgitation can be due to many things not just opmv. take the coastal to the vet and get them to check him out before you start freezing animals. do any other animals show symptoms of any sort???

have you changed the size of the food that you have been feeding the coastal? what species did you purchase?

no other symtoms only the male in the pair female is gravid so isn't feeding, all other morelia are fine Gtp, coffs coastals, jungles are fine, are any other genus susseptable to ompv or ibd:cry:

import is colubrid so don't think its able to be affected just a dirty carrier. temps are fine max 32 min 26 this time of year

he behaives normal, 5-6ft approx 1.8-2kg age 5.5yrs. has in last 6mths which is pre new arrival seemed to have a pyramiding to his spine slightly which im unsure of its cause and relevance vet checked 5mths ago and vet couldn't diagnose either. yes is corn no other data availible sourced in seqld but unsure of origins whether new import or aussie bred. it seems healthy just noticing to look at now, that it may be breathing short sharp never weezes though i just assumed that was natural for day active colubrids. yes F10 is used at every cleaning. thanks for your help i was waiting for abuse aswell but i know i've done the wrong thing im just after some help because of my remoteness to other herpers

yeah some ppl do the wrong thing sometimes it just happens.

i would still get the carpet to the vet to have it properly examined, it could still even be a throat blockage or something that only a x-ray will show.

Cheers D

Get rid of your corn, like put it in another spot in the house away from your other herps what are native. Then i would take your carpet to the vet for a decent check up. Then i would clean out al the cages with f10 and let them sit outside in direct sun for the rest of the day, then clean out the herp room and set up the cages again.

thanks heaps ive just read the link you gave me it doesn't seem to be ompv from my interpretation, but it now leeds me to question an elapid keeper ive been dealing with in regards to him loosing lge numbers of juvy death adders 12mths ago. as to why he never thought to mention possibility of ompv. off to the vet we go aswell. thanks for not being nasty trust me wen i say i've learn't from my mistakes.:oops::oops:
