does anyone here work at a reptile park?Im interested in working at 1 but dont know how i could go about it.Thanks

It used to be you do a 6-12 months voluntary work whilst you're doing a TAFE course or similar, than if you are lucky they may offer you a job? I suggest you phone them and ask them.

re reptile

Gday olive, the australian reptile park at gosford is always after volunteers and has signs in their reptile house stating this, give them a ring or email.Good learning experience ide say if you could make it there which could lead to bigger and better things,i dont know if taronga zoo or featherdale need people in their reptile sections but ask. Cheers colin.

i would do voulantry work but my local area is deprived of a zoo so my lifetime goal is to open a zoo on the south side of brissy :)

Go to ARP.

I did some work there at the end of last year. I spoke to some of the regular vollys and they all seemed to enjoy it. Plus the training is very good and recorded on paper. If you stayed there a couple of years you would be pretty well experienced in most areas of reptile keeping.

It is very very hard to get a paying job as a reptile keeper anywhere. Its hard enough to get a job looking after a zoos live food collection... But if its your passion, and you put in the hard yards, youll get there!
