Reputable Breeders In Melbourne

i have recently been given permission to buy a pet snake (i'm 15 so i needed permission). i was just wondering if you had any suggestions of snake breeders in Melbourne and if so can you also provide contact details (websites,phone numbers etc) i dont know what snake im going to get but im leaning towards a jungle carpet. on the note of reputability, does anyone know if amazing amazon breeds their snakes properly and all that just because i have seen how bad some breeding facilities are and i dont want to support something like that.

Amazing Amazon is a very good place to buy from.
Plenty of breeders in Melbourne, depending on exactly what you are looking for Shaun Carroll comes to mind for Jungles but there will be plenty of breeders around.
You might want to make your first purchase a book, followed by the enclosure so you are fully prepared before you get the snake.

thanks for the advice! i purchased 'keeping and breeding Australian pythons' over a year ago (convincing parents and siblings has been a marathon not a sprint) and i have read quite a lot of it. i have also watched countless hours of reptile based you tube videos so i feel i have enough knowledge to safely buy a snake even though i still have so much to learn. i am planning to build my first enclosure (with the help of a family friend who is a builder) and will set it all up before i buy the snake so all good on that front. i am happy to hear that amazing amazon is a good place to buy from so i can get everything i need there but i will also check out shaun carroll.

I don't know any breeders per say, but several high quality specialist reptile store in the Melbourne area,
As you mentioned, Amazing Amazon, from what I understand, their animals come from either outside breeders, or from some of the people who work there, who are also breeders. They give some good advice, but it depends on who you talk to.

'Totally reptiles', is a really underrated place IMO, it's about 40 minutes from Amazing Amazon, so a bit of a drive. But they seriously care about their animals, and do their best to educate people. They are super honest and won't con you into buying unneeded things like some stores, they also provide ongoing advice when you need it. It's where I got my first snake and being a complete noob the owner there, gave me great advice and was willing to help. It's the kind of service you don't always get in a big store, here's their number (03) 9435 2152 They also have a facebook page. Would highly recommend checking them out, cannot think of a better place to get a first snake.

Also 'Mentone Aquarium' have quite the range of snakes, good if you're looking for something in particular, and the guy in charge of the reptile department seems nice and reasonably knowledgeable. But their stuff, especially the reptiles themselves are very pricey.

I looked into it and totally reptiles is about the same distance away from me then amazing amazon is (20 mins away from both). with that glowing recommendation i will be sure to check it out before i purchase anything. i thank you for the recommendation, it really helps me to get a feel for the places around me where i can go for reptile needs.
