Hi Everyone,

I am currently in the process of applying for my QLD Recreational wildlife license and it states that i can own up to 2 restricted and unlimited non-restricted reptiles.

I have looked around and cannot find a list of reptiles that fall under these categories. It would also be handy to know what reptiles are illegal to keep.

If anyone can point me in the right direction i would be great full.

It's pretty easy. Womas and green tree pythons are restricted (you can only keep two of these, so one woma and gtp, or two of either), and every other python is unrestricted. Any of the Colubrids are unrestricted (so, green tree snakes, brown tree snakes, etc.). Venomous snakes are not allowed on the Recreational licence.

All geckoes are unrestricted, so are all dragons and skinks (I think, someone please correct me if I'm wrong), and I'm not sure on the moniters. I think you can keep most moniters species, except for the larger ones like perenties and lacies. I'm not sure on the lizards, as I don't keep any.

Thanks that helps a lot... it is a shame i would love a chameleon :D ... So the next question is that if my unrestricted reptiles breed do i need a special license to sell them?
