My jungle carpet that has never had an issue sloughing, has left behind a bit on the head. From the eyes back to the neck. So far i have tried bathing in warm water, placed in a warm damp pillowcase for 30 mins. I got some off that was on the neck, but the head still remains. The issue i have is she is a typical jungle chainsaw, so she is always trying to bite and trying to grab her head is near impossible.

Any help appreciated

that's a bit of a dilemma...Try putting her in a click clack with scrunched up paper and very warm water ti depth of 1 cm for an hour then let her into her enclosure with a rock or something rough. My spotted never completely sheds her head, she is my only snake that does this, but she is very good about me helping her shed though.

If the retained skin is dry what can what can help is get some sorbolene cream and rub it on the skin. This really helps soften the skin which makes it easier for the snake to rib it off. I have done this before and it works well. If you do this and give it a warm bath everyday/other day it should come off in a week or two.

well after losing about 200mls of blood in the process i manhandled her and used a rubber glove to remove it. She really seemed to quieten down after a minute or so

Haha well done I think that was your only option. If it's anywhere else it's easy but the head you gotta leave them to do it themselves or suck it up and lose some blood

oh and found the heat emitter has packed it in, so temps wouldve been down. Hopefully the issue is fixed

Hahahaha nice story dangles! Correct response- feel the fear and do it anyway.

when a snake is about to shed do they look as if they were never going to shed in the first place??? this is after there eyes have gone milky

Yeah the eyes go clear again but as Jas said they go very dull. It's quite obvious on the belly I find
