Coming home from the Renmark Tower Tavern staff party 2night, I ran over a nice sized bunny. Only squashed its head, no body bruising. Already skun and dressed by Dave and in the fridge, and should be nice in a camp oven over Christmas. Yummy!!! Like this wild tucker. Couldn't believe how many bunnies were about 2nite. Looks like the Calisci(can't remember how to spell that), isn't working too well round here?? Cheers Cheryl

good one
however if Calisci is what i think it is (rabbit poison?) and you know its being distributed in your area, i would be a little hesitant about eating it for xmas dinner..... ever.....

I'm with you angelrose. It's just not worth the risk.

No, no! Calisci is an introduced Virus, that is s'posed to kill off all the rabbits. It's not a poison. I guess its like Mixamotosis(another introduced virus - not sure of that spelling either) Anyway, neither of those viruses can hurt humans, just the Bunnies!

Urk no thanks,i'll stick to good old ham and turkey from the butchers....no road kill for food for this little black duck!

Browns, I only ran over its head. It's still good tucker. If Id run over the body it would have stayed on the road. We bushies know what's good and what is not eh? Good night, off to dreamworld now. Nite.

RE: Re: RE: Road Kill Rabbit

There seems to be a lot more rabbits here than usual.
One thing that makes me laugh is that people won't eat rabbit cause of calicivirus or mixi, do they think that cows don't get viruses?

No splintered bones LOL! Dave cut off the head. A really nice sized little bunny. Dave will use his culinary expertise and make some really nice Kentucky Fried Rabbit.

I am with you on this one Browns. Although I have had wild animals before I much prefer going to the butcher and buying a steak than trying to run over a cow......LOL
