Hi all,
Can anyone please tell me if roughies are still on class 2 in NSW or if they have been moved to class 1 yet? If they are still c2, any idea if or when they may be moved to c1?

Also, my partner had her class 2 lic for a few years but about 2 years ago let it expire due to not keeping anymore. I have been told she can go back onto class 2 when renewing, others have said no she has to start back at class 1, can anyone shed any light on this please??

Yes, they are on class 2.

As for your partners licence, I'm pretty sure she can go straight back to C2 once she renews and pays.

Just call OEH tomorrow to find out for sure.

last time i checked the species list they were still class 2 in nsw(sucks) you can just google "reptile species list nsw" thats how i find it to double check

i asked a much more experienced keeper about this issue, basically the rarity of these in the wild keeps them on a class 2 and don't expect them to move to class 1 anytime soon. also from another experienced keeper i plan to get a pair from one day, said that even though they have done extremely well in captivity these are still relatively rare in private collections, i believe the estimated number to be only around 1k in private collections.

I find it funny how I can have as many Woma's in NSW as I want and have to have a class 2 for a RSP, but if I move to QLD (which might be on the cards), I can have as many RSPs as I want but only 2 Woma's because they are a restricted animal???
