19th February Riverland Run Rock & Rally SA. Renmark Oval, Renmark. Meet Victor Richardson gates, Adelaide Oval for 1000 departure. Catered, entertainment, band, fireworks, badge available.

Big night in Renmark tomorrow night! Last Run, Rally and Rock ever! All bike riders from Riverland, meet riders from Adelaide at Morgan. Then riders all meet at Bredl's Reptile Park outside Renmark for the ride into Renmark to the local football oval/showgrounds. Raising money for "Kids With Cancer". Organised by Vietnam Vets. $10 entry fee. No BYO. Bring a swag. Riders from Vic and NSW welcome for sure. Lots of bands and artists. All for $10! Very Cheap! Heaps of sideshows and rides. A Great Night Out! Dave and I have been about 4 times in all. Just run amok totally, but had swags with us no probs. Cheers Cheryl

Bugga! 5 or 6 thousand people at a show in Renmark is huge eh? It will probably top that as its the last time they are going to raise money in this style.

Tear gas used to break up rock gig brawl

Police used tear gas during a brawl which erupted at a concert at Renmark in South Australia on the weekend.


Here is a bit of a news report from last year's gig.

A 25-year-old local man was sprayed with the gas during his arrest at 10:30pm (AEDT) on Saturday at the Renmark Oval during the Run, Rally, Rock concert.

Police say the fight involving more than 15 people was sparked by an argument and happened near the sideshow alley, away from the main crowd.

Senior Sergeant Peter Foot says a 16-year-old Renmark boy was also arrested and charged, and three others reported.

"One's looking at a number of street offences and possession of drugs and the male that was sprayed with tear gas has been charged with disorderly behaviour and possibly affray," he said.

Riders take to the road for last Run, Rally and Rock

It will be the end of an era for father and daughter Jock and Ann Ryan tomorrow with the last Run, Rally and Rock.
This will be the ninth year the duo has taken part in the ride.
Miss Ryan, who has ridden motorbikes for 34 years, said going on the rally was always great fun.
"It's a good excuse to go for a run on the bikes," she said.
"(The best thing) is the friends you make, you get to know a lot of the people who come up from Adelaide for the run."
Mr Ryan has been riding for 57 years, after gaining his licence at the young age of 15.
He said there was always a great feeling of camaraderie on the Run, Rally and Rock ride.
"It's just a nice feeling to be out with them all (the riders)."
This year's ride will leave from Renmark at 10am and move on to Berri and Barmera. The Riverland riders will meet up with those from Adelaide, at Morgan, at midday. The parade of bikes is expected to arrive in Renmark around 3pm. More than 300 motorcycle riders are expected to take part in the run.
Organisers are hoping to attract a crowd of 5000 people and raise $50,000 for the South Australian Childhood Cancer Association.
Entertainment at the Renmark Oval will include Glenn Shorrock, Brian Cadd, Acoustic Juice and John Schumann, along with rides and stalls.
A Fireworks display will be held just before midnight.
The event is co-ordinated by the Vietnam Veterans Association.

It is usually a really good night out with only a few d...heads around. And they raise heaps of money for the Cancer Kids. I might just pop in after I knock off at the Renmark Tower Tavern at 10pm. Dave doesn't want to go. He's gone up to Lake Victoria/Rufus River for a night/day of fishing for Callop with a mate. Doesn't matter, if I run amok, I'll have the swag with me! Nite! Nite! Have to go and feed da Froggies.

tear gas isnt that bad inny, sure it gets into ya but really not that bad if you keep your hands away from your eyes

Hey Guys? This sort of stuff really doesn't happen here in Renmark? Please if you are close to our town of Renmark, please come and support the Vietnam Vets in raising money for Kids With Cancer. They usually raise at least $40,000 on the night for this show. All you folks just over the border in Vic and NSW please come and help for the last show. Bikes, cars or whatever? Cheers Cheryl
