Another short video from Australia day down at Rye Pier where I was joined by a couple of young fur seals.

Seriously amazing - what sort of set up did you use to capture this film?

The young seal with the scar was at Mornington pier last week to.

This seemed like a fresh wound; as in when I saw it (26 Jan) basking and scratching on the pier the fishing line had cut into the flesh and it was raw. Can't see it healing until the line actually comes off. Someone on the pier told me fisheries had been there the day before checking out the seal. Don't know what fisheries would do but presume they have advised someone in the know. Can't see the fishing line breaking down quickly, I'd say it's stuck with it unless it's caught and the line is physically removed. Very sad. Seems like the seal gets around a bit if it was at Mornington as well.
