Hi All,
needing a little bit of advice,
I've been reading a heaps of the posts on the forum and have came across heaps of useful info but not really related to Blue tongue lizards. I've finally been able to get the $$ together for a new enclosure which i pick up in a few days and I am wanting to hear from you guys for some advice/ help. I was wondering what is the best way to set him up, are bluey's likely to go into stress shock from change of environments? especially more heated one's?
I only ask as this enclosure will have a basking globe and a proper thermostat for a more controlled level of heat. His other place is on uv and heat mat. I've kept a close eye on him over the past 1-2weeks as he has become less active and less hungry,he's fine when handled but prefers to hide as usual. Got to watch some great cat and mouse play with his crickets yesterday but wont touch, only minimal on the veg but had a treat of apple sauce and he ate it all(guts). Just been a little worried with the non activity of winter time, and not eating much. I do think he's a little stressed, as my cat sits on his uv lamp to warm up her butt. ( true) LOL
Would love the feedback
Thx

I moved my blueys into a new enclosure and they were fine - one likes to hide a lot more than the other, but overall their behaviour didn't change too much. Reduced appetite could be to do with change in temps or a bit of stress, but if you have plenty of hides for the little fella, and provide him with food and water and the right temps like you usually do, he'll settle in in his own time. Still being winter too, he's not at his best. If he's still eating something that's good, i think if he were refusing food al together i'd be worried. Just give him time and leave him alone for a bit and i reckon you'll be right. Might be good if you can keep the cat off hte lamp too!! hehehe. But it sounds like you're doing everything right and keeping an eye on him.
