Hey all, im thinking of starting a big communal tank using my current empty fish tank and i was just wondering are there any coloured lights that scorpions cant see? like red or blue? this would be for night veiwing so that they arent disturbed,

also would coloured celophane wrapped around the light work the same as a coloured bulb? (the light has a plastic cover over it so excess heat melting the celophane isnt a problem)
cheers.

Dont get me wrong, infact i dont know **** all about scorps...I have red though that they shouldnt be kept together especially when they get older...I think ya can keep a few of the U.Nova's together if the enclosure is large, with suficient hides...Just be cautious, as i said i know **** all about em, but i have been reading up as i want a few scorps...

use a blue black light its basially a very dark UV light and it makes them pretty much glow in the dark.

ive heard its not helthy to keep the uv light on for extended periods, just asking iff they can see blue or red light

Yer mate it can damage the exo-skeleton with to much uv, if your just put a red or blue filter over a desk lamp itll work because they have terrible eyesight and cant see much anyway :)
