Hi
It has been a while since i did my last fake rocks and similar pieces. Im currently doing a fake rock wall and wanted to do some revision of the ways i can seal it.

For my last piece i made a mix of water, flour, Pva and red desert sand and did quite a few coats. Then to seal it i did 2 coats with clear estapol, this was very good to seal but makes it very shinny and leaves little natural color tone.
I am doing the mix with glue and sand again but i was wondering what other ways i could use to seal ( Within a budget off course).
Thanks

you could just lightly sand with with a very fine sandpaper and take the shine off it

you can use grout and paint sealant but the fumes take ages to go. I'm airing another one off now, been 3 weeks and still strong.

Yeah fumes are always a problem, with my last i had the piece in direct sunlight for a week
