Maybe have a think about about this before you lay out too much cash
Snakes love to poo in the water bowls
They also prefer fresh water when available

Knowing that have a self watering system may let you have an easier time with replacing water
But if its full of crap they wont drink it anyway

eBay has similar designs more targeted for cats but they are small enough. They cost $6.90 for the smallest ones and are very average lol

I like those sort of things for dogs and cats (although the rottie would eat it), but would be very hesitant to use it for snakes. They love crawling into tight spaces, and I can imagine one drowning in the water reservoir. Alternatively, knocking it over and flooding the cage would be good fun. Makes the rottie chewing it up seem relatively harmless...

Those self watering containers are popular with cats and dogs should find then lots of places but as you know snakes prefer fresh water

thanks for you insightful thoughts and replys, these are very small probably 300ml and 10 to 11cm high. I have used these for years with my hatchies, doing a new rack so wanted to source more.
herpshop used to stock them and thats were i got the original ones from many years ago.
Yes you can get them from e-bay but only from the US but the postage/ frieght is a killer (Over $30 for $2.95 item) and i am only chasing another 4, hence hoping someone here might have found them in their travels locally.

As for the pro's and con's, rarely have i had herps poo in their water, which is like any spot cleaning as so as you see crap or anything un higienic, that you change it. And i keep my chargers daily. Watching them as i type away :)

For those concerned they get change every 3 day regardless. Fully srubbed any clean before re-use. I also have never had any issues with snake sloughing and i've never had mites, so none have needed to soak. This system is problem free and works for me. So if anyone has come across the type pictured please contact me any size larger doesn't work with my rack system. cheer guys and girls

I like the automatic water you hook to the hose, want something like this for the dog..
As for a self water for hatchys, mine make a mess in there tubs so personally id think its cheaper and easyer to stick with dishes..

I'll have to take a pic of the self water set I have :) Over kill size..lol
