G'Day all,

I am just wondering if ackies display thermally regulated sex determination? The reason I ask is that I have successfully incubated and hatched two clutches, the first of 7 and the second of 4, at 31c. All offspring, which are getting onto a year old appear to be male. Is this a random fluke of chance, or would a different incubation temperature result in more even sex ratios?

Cheers

I believe most monitor eggs can't handle temperatures much above 30c for any length of time. So I would try lowering the temp to about 29 and maybe you will get more even sex ratios. Gl breeding in the future

I tend to agree with shylock1 and incubate all my monitor eggs at 28.5 degrees
