I tryed to make cookies today, had no plain flour so used raising flour, supposed to look and feel like dough, looked and felt more like cake mix, said use baking paper, had none so used foil, said use cookie cutters,of corse wouldn't work, said have orange juice 4 icing, had none,so used milk and cocoa powder and icing sugar, try to get cookies off, were sticky but got them off,but in the end they tasted yum!!!.:D

So share your cooking diasters!!!!

i cooked a hge roast once for me n my family and i burnt the gravy but didnt realise till we ate it and tasted horrible and i had tipped gravy on 3/4 of the servings so epic fail lol

i was making a birthday cake for my sister, i needed half a teaspoon of salt, stupid me measured over the top of the mixing bowl..... the lid came off the salt. ruined it before it even got a chance to bake. there was a mad dash to the shops to get more ingredients as i had used the last of pretty much everything and i had only three hours to have it baked cooled and frosted before the dinner... the new cake came out perfect though lol

I dont even know where to start... whenever I enter the kitchen I can guarantee I'm about to screw something up. I'm one of those people who always burns meat on the outside but still has it raw on the inside, ignores measurements in recipes because I for some reason think I know better and overcook chicken like you wouldn't believe because I'm paranoid about getting food poisoning...

WOWthats pretty bad.

I once tried cooking some "instant pudding" in the microwave. long story short i read the oven time instead of the microwave time. and half an hour later the house filled with smoke and mums new tupperware container ($150) + brand new 2 week old microwave ($350) were completely destroyed and the house smelled like burnt plastic for a good month. needless to say i wasn't mum's favourite son for a while.

I needed to cook custard in the microwave... so, I quickly washed my microwave bowl, added the ingredients and started cooking. when I went to mix it, I thought it was kind of strange that it was bubbling quite a lot, and the bubbles were 'holding'. Anyway, I ignored it and continued... It seemed to be taking an exceedingly long time to thicken, and was still creating quite hardy little bubbles. Eventually I gave up and just chucked it in the fridge to cool and hopefully thicken a bit more. When I later went to use it, it tasted like crap! I ended up coming to the conclusion that I musn't have rinsed all the detergent out properly... I don't recommend doing this guys!

In the past I've mistaken dishwashing liquid for olive oil (yay for soapy tuna sauce!) and have burnt one kitchen down whilst trying to deep fry some chips at 3am...but I'm an awesome cook now, I swear!

I have just burnt 2 batches of toffee (and 1 finger) that i am using to make salted caramel truffels (the toffee, not the finger).
But so far the 3rd batch looks good. I don't think I disolved sugar properly before boiling it on the burnt 2. oops!

I know! For some stupid reason I thought that sticking my finger in it was a good idea to check if it was ready. I dont think I have a finger print on that one any more, man it stings!!!

my mum did that once, only she freaked out when she realised how hot it was and stuck her finger in her mouth, creating a web up her chin. so she had a red line up her chin that lasted a few days, a burnt tounge and finger. im just glad it wasnt me haha
