Hey everyone, I recently got a bredli python, and have noticed over the last few days that his scales are becoming kinda prickly, im not sure if that means he is going to shed or if its a problem so please get back to me as soon as possible
thanks

If he hasn't shed since you got him then it is possible he is coming up to a shed, depending on how long you've had him you should have left him pretty much alone for a week or two to settle in.

the typical signs of an upcoming slough are that the skin will look dull and sometimes darker on some species, and if you handle them (NOT generally recommended) their skin will feel dry and a little loose, and their eyes will go cloudy for a few days and then clear up, its normally about 4 - 5 days later you will find a skin in the cage. Keep in mind that most snakes like to hide while in slough because their sight is severely affected they feel vunerable, so if he goes into hiding and you try and grab him out you could get bitten.

leave him alone for a week and see what happens.

how long have you had him and how old is he ?

ive had him about umm i dnt no not that long (maybe 2 weeks maybe 1)
he didnt take long to settle is and he has been pretty friendly, like slithering up my arm and on my chest and so on
but yea he hasnt shed since ive had him and he's about 3 mnts old (aprox)

Maybe if you look at your paper work you can decipher how long you have had him?
But hey 1 week or two weeks? Do you know how long since his last shed?

I have no idea how long its been since his last shed
I tried calling the lady I brought him off but she's in the process of moving house, so she didnt pick up.
I'll probably try again today and just see what she says.

The most obvious signs that a snake is going to shed is that it will look quite dull and the eyes will go a cloudy blue sort of colour. Have you noticed that at all?

Your Bredli wont be 3 months old!, It will be last years hatchling (12months) given that of Bredli eggs dont hatch untill approx jan-feb

It sounds like it may be comming to a slough, so just leave it alone untill it has
completed this cycle!
