Slides to JPEG?

Does anyone know if it's possible to transfer older slide film to JPEG? Steve's posts have inspired me to share.

Hey imported_Varanus. I actually get asked this a bit where I work and have always advised folks to buy themselves a Film to PC Scanner (Inexpensive @ around $100 to $200). Most come with their own version of software that helps with scanning in and converting all your films into digital photos.

Thanks for the replies, much appreciated! Might try the cheaper option first (I'm assuming camera shop processing?), ebay and then bite the bullet and look at film scanners.
