So I fed Smaug today as is my current Sunday ritual, and forgot to close his door properly. Fast forward about five hours, and my fiance goes WHERE IS THE SNAKE!?! We realised the door was slightly ajar. So we started looking around his tank, and luckily he hadn't gotten far! Literally directly below it, right near the heat matt.
My fiance lifted up the end of the tank, and I slid him out and deposited him back into the enclosure. He didn't freak out too much, and it was more like....
I'M FREE!!
OH CRAP NOW What?
BIG Lesson for me though. ALWAYS check the door before walking away. We're lucky the cat didn't notice
