I think this is pretty funny, chances are some of you will too. It is a beautiful day here so I took a few snakes outside to photograph. As usual I took about 200 pictures and only a dozen are worth keeping. Generally when a snake is uncooperative that means it won't hold still. When I took this albino California king outside, well, the displeasure was shown in a different way.
That was when I first tried to set it down. As soon as it unlatched from that hold it found a new spot
I got it away from my fingers thinking it would stop biting since it couldn't get a good grip on the back of my hand.
I got it away from that hand, thinking it might have a scent that was attracting the snake. Did this make a difference?
No, the snake didn't care. I was finally able to get it on the ground. For some reason the pictures I got then weren't as nice as I thought they would be.
This is the sort of thing I think of when people ask if I've ever been bitten by a snake. In a life threatening way? No. I don't try to explain how bites can be funny, if you aren't in the hobby you just won't get it.
