Snake Dog

"What do your pets think of your reptiles? This dog grew up around snakes all of his life and has no fear or interest in them what so ever. I often wonder how many wild ones he sees around the yard without blinking an eye...... However when it comes to one male scalaris they don't like each other and often hassel, through the enclosure glass.... Yes 'they'. The scalaris struts around inflating in and out and tries to bite the dog, well this infuriates him and he starts barking. The scalaris seems to enjoy getting the dog in trouble.....crazy house! :roll: "

i have mini foxy and she doesn't care about my blue tongue wandering around. But shes taken on a brown snake lucky i was there to save them both

wow, i wouldnt trust our foxy for sec, but our old dog ignores snakes and liz, turts on the loose.

my dogs have been raised with a variety of animals.. they only react at venomous snakes.. is it possible that they smell the difference? we lost a dog to snake bite a few years ago and i have a couple of large brown sheddings which if i pull ot the dogs freak.

Intresting Zard, you might be onto something there! foxys hate vens, my F.I.L's attacked a small rbb last year in their yard, got tagged and was very sick for few days, started frothing at the mouth. survived though.

my Staffy is exactly the same.........."Conan" and my coastal Brutus were were licky each other on the face through the enclosure yesterday......God help anyone who goes near Brutus.......Conan is very protective,

Well, my bigger dogs are great with the herps, they let them crawl all over them and dont bat an eye, the bigger one, rotti x shepard licks them in the head and gets his tongue bitten alot, but he doesnt mind, heres a pic of him with my rexie on his back. The Chihuahua is way too nervous, he doesnt mind the hatchies, but he's been rat rolled 3 times by the big murrays and the coastals.... and everytime he walks past their cage, they hiss at him and tap the glass.... he runs like mad... hahah
