Hi everyone

My 5 year old jungle has a mouth infection, took him to the vet and she has given us some meds given orally.

Anyway I am just having a hell time administration them and just wanted to know if anyone can give me any advice to make it less of a horrid experience for the both of us.

Regards and thanks

Mark

Stick some air tube much like the stuff they use for asmatics nebulisers on the end of a syringe and put that down its throat. Did the vet explain how to administer the meds?????

yes she did with a credit card or a arrrrr stick, whatever theory are called (iceblock stick), she wants me to do the same with my female and that near impossible it’s hard enough to get close to her. I did try syringing the meds into a small mouse stomach though the mouth but couldn’t keep it down I am now thinking of using a needle and injecting directly into its tummy.

With him I am just having a hard time holding his head in place ect just thought I would ask for any ideas

Have you got someone there to help you. It would make the way the vet said to do it so much easier.

look up URS and buy a 160mm dosing needle. Sorry no links, its under husbandry equipment/syringes.

the needle thing worked really well will have to see if the keep eatting.

thanks will keep you uptated.....
